The “Daily Bread” records real absurd situations that represent the daily routines of women in prison, which are further transformed into the necessary stylization. The individual cases may seem confusing, even made up. Therefore, the audience can only guess how much we balance between facts and fiction. The nature of the individual videos is conceived as an epic tale outside of time supported by fascinating storytellers. The protagonists of the story are women who have bread instead of their faces which metaphorically represents identical characters of all women whose faces merge during their stay in prison. Each of them ends up without not only their faces but also their personalities. Nobody can preserve their face or reason. The Apocalypse is, however, nowhere near, and the calm before the storm is not happening. In this primitive environment, everything has been long omnipresent and set.
